President of Turkmenistan conducts a videoconference meeting

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a videoconference meeting with the Vice Premiers, the heads of the ministries and departments concerned and the khyakims of the regions and Ashgabat. The meeting agenda focused on the progress in implementing the social and economic development strategy and the national and sectoral development programmes.

Congratulating military servants on the Defenders of the Motherland Day, the Turkmen leader expressed his best wishes to the high-ranking officials and specialists of military and law enforcement agencies.

During the videoconference the heads of regional administration reported on the measures taken to prepare fields and agricultural equipment for sowing cotton and other agricultural crops and take care of winter wheat fields. The reports on the progress in construction of facilities and the organisation of the festive events, which will be held in the regions in the framework of the celebrations in honour of the 290th birthday anniversary of Magtymguly Fraghi, were presented.

Reporting on the measures taken to beautify the capital city, the high-ranking officials dwelt upon the development of urban infrastructure, the progress in construction of a number of facilities, the operation of electricity supply systems and well-coordinated activities of public utilities. The projects for reconstruction of city parks were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.

The report on the current activities of MFA focused in the results of the visit of the Turkmen delegation to Malaysia, which took place on January 21-25. The delegation held meetings and talks with the Prime Minister of Malaysia and the heads of number of ministries and departments of the friendly country, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. These meetings focused on cooperation in training highly qualified personnel for different sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan, including the oil and gas industry, food industry and education, and the approaches to building up and enhancing fruitful contacts.

The Turkmen leader was informed of the current situation in the financial and economic sphere, the measures taken to maintain the progressive development of the industrial sector, in particular the textile industry. The measures taken to purchase equipment and software from the world's leading manufacturers and designers for the Hydrometeorology Service were reported about. The reports on the current situation in the food industry and the measures taken to further develop it in order to fulfil the assigned tasks and meet modern requirements were presented. The President was informed of the results of the inspection carried out by the Supreme Chamber of Inspection.

Commenting on the reports, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on some issues which are essential to the timely and proper organisation and holding of the upcoming sowing campaign.

The President instructed the khyakims to prepare for the celebrations in honour of the 290th birthday anniversary of Magtymguly Fraghi. Also, the President gave specific instructions to the head of administration of Dashoguz Velayat, where the Week of Culture would take place this summer. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the failure to maintain and keep clean apartment houses in some housing estates in Ashgabat and demanded that consistent measures to keep housing estates clean and neat should be taken.

The President gave instructions to expand greenhouse farms and grow more plant stock, which will be used for floristic ornamental compositions in Ashgabat, and instructed to draft the relevant proposals.

After considering the projects for reconstruction of city parks, the President provided some comments and recommendations on them and gave specific instructions to the Ashgabat Khyakim.

Noting that cooperation between Turkmenistan and Malaysia dynamically developed in all the spheres, the President focused on the importance of expanding contacts in education and prompting exchange of experiences through inter-institute collaboration. Emphasizing the importance of building up contacts between the foreign ministries of the two countries, the Turkmen leader gave specific instructions to the Vice Premier to carry on the work in this direction.

The Turkmen leader drew attention of the high-ranking officials of the textile industry to the organizational issues, including management and improvement in profitability of textile enterprises, adoption of innovative technologies and application of modern market mechanisms, and gave them specific instructions in this regard.

In conclusion, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished the meeting participants every success in achieving the objectives for sustainable social and economic development of the country and the welfare of the nation and every Turkmen citizen.
