President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a videoconference meeting with the Vice Premiers, the heads of the ministries and departments concerned and the khyakims of the regions and Ashgabat.
The meeting agenda focused on the progress in implementing the social and economic development strategy and the national and sectoral development programmes, including agricultural campaigns and preparations for the removable dates.
The Turkmen leader was informed of the progress in implementing the construction projects in the Turkmen capital and in the regions of the country, in particular the projects on construction of the transport and communication facilities and new modern settlements as well as the measures taken to improve the water supply to the fields in the country and allocate land for agricultural activities and construction of apartment houses. It was also reported on the measures taken to prevent the Amu Darya River from freezing up.
The reports on the measures taken to intensify the development of the oil and gas industry, develop further the trade sphere given the modern requirements and tasks set to the industry were presented during the meeting. The Turkmen leader was informed on the work of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan as well as on the preparations for the Exhibition of Exported Commodities of the Republic of Turkey in Turkmenistan.
Reporting on the preparations for the celebrations on occasion of the State Flag Day, the Vice Premiers noted that the programme of the festive events would include concerts, exhibitions, conferences as well as cultural forums dedicated to the holiday, architectural premiers and other events that will be organized in all cities and settlements of the country, in the educational institutions and at enterprises.
The Turkmen leader was also informed on the preparations for the Week of Culture that will be held in Dashoguz as well as on the outcomes of the working visit to the capital of the Republic of Turkey, where a Turkmen delegation participated in the events to mark the Year of Magtumguly Fraghi declared by the International Organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY in 2014.
Paying particular attention to the construction works, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the relevant officials to analyze the progress of works on development of modern settlements in the regions and take all necessary measures to accelerate the paces of construction and improve the quality of works.
