President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which the priority issues of the state policy life were considered and the important documents were signed.
Opening the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov issued the Decree on the pardon of convicted persons in honour the National Flag Day.
The Turkmen leader was informed on the progress in implementing the regulations of the Law of Turkmenistan "On privatization of the housing sector of the state housing fund" adopted in June, 2013. According to the legislation act, it is envisaged to establish a property exchange. In this regard, the Turkmen leader was informed on the proposals on creation of this institution under the Ministry of Communal Services of Turkmenistan.
The report on drafting the long-term programme specifying the key areas of works to increase the volumes of the export commodities produced in our country was presented during the meeting. It was also noted that the relevant ministries and department in charge considered the issues on the establishment of the Institute for studying foreign markets in Turkmenistan with the aim to conduct scientific researches of the opportunities for increasing the export potential of the country.
The Chairperson of the National Parliament of Turkmenistan informed the Turkmen leader that a number of draft laws would be considered during a regular meeting of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan scheduled for March 1. It was also reported on preparations for the early election of the Mejlis deputies and Gengesh members to replace those who have resigned. The elections will be held on March 20, 2014.
Reporting on the preparations for the Diplomats' Day of Turkmenistan that is traditionally celebrated in our country on February 18, the Turkmen leader was informed on the events to be held on February 16-17.
It was also reported on the work done to improve the design of the Memorial complex under construction in the Turkmen capital, in particular on the preparation of the works of art for the Memorial complex and supplying the Museum affiliated to the complex with valuable exhibits.
The Turkmen leader was informed on the preparations for the participation of Turkmenistan in the EXPO-2015 World Exposition to be held in Milan, Italy. It was reported that the representative forum will be held on May 1 - october 31, 2015 under the theme "Feeding the planet: energy for life".
A complimentary copy of the Döwlet Guşy book published in the Turkish language was presented to the Turkmen leader during the meeting.
The reports on the existing situation in the various sectors of the agroindustrial complex of the country, the structural subdivisions of the fuel and energy complex, the spheres of transport and communications as well as on the progress of construction of the Mejlisler Merkezi Congress Cenre and the theatre and concert centre designed for 3,000 seats having been built in the south of the Turkmen capital were presented during the meeting.
The Turkmen leader was informed on the progress of construction of the complex of buildings in Avaza Etrap in Turkmenbashi, Balkan Velayat as well as modernization and construction of the Archman - Turkmenbashi, Ashgabat - Mary, Mary - Turkmenabat, Turkmenabat - Farab and Ashgabat - the Karakum Desert - Dashoguz highways.
Within the framework of the meetings, the President signed the Resolutions, "On approval of the Regulations for organization of contests on scientific programmes and projects, defining winers and financing contest programmes and projects", "On the production of sugar beet in Turkmenistan in 2014", "On the purchase of ammonia nitrate by the Turkmenhimiya State Concern", "On construction of the complex of buildings in Avaza Etrap in Turkmenbashi, Balkan Velayat" and gave specific instructions to the relevant officials.
Other issues were considered and the decisions were adopted during the meeting.
