President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who had been on a working trip to Balkan Velayat, visited the Magtymguly offshore field and considered the progress of development of the Avaza National tourist zone.
The President considered the sea platform complex at the Magtymguly offshore deposit in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea and visited the sea platform central control post. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the specialists working there and asked them about the peculiarities of the offshore oil and gas production, the technologies used there, the level of automation of works as well as the measures taken to protect environment.
During the helicopter flight over the resort seaside, the Turkmen leader got acquainted with the progress of its development and improvement. Considering the projects under construction, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the importance of planting the territory adjacent to them with greenery and instructed the relevant officials to establish parking zones there in order to create the most favorable conditions for recreation and improvement of health of people spending their holidays in Avaza.
The draft designs of a number of social facilities to be built by the Polimeks Company were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration. Among them are the Congress Centre in the Avaza National tourist zone, the project on construction of the polyethylene and polypropylene production plant in Kyyanly. The Turkmen leader considered the draft design of the new multifunctional sports complex in Avaza as well as the projects on construction of the sodium sulphate and washing agents production plant and the plant on production of ammonia and carbide in the city of Garabogaz.
The draft designs of twenty four-storey apartment houses to be erected in Balkanabat and ten four-storey apartment houses to be built in Turkmenbashi, as well as new facilities, including the buildings of Khyakimlik, police office, community facilities administration, fire station, the system of education and healthcare, etc, were also presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov considered the project on development of the International sea port in Turkmenbashi.
The Turkmen leader considered the project of a cottage complex designed for 700 places to be built by the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan in the Avaza National tourist zone. The Union and the Hyzmatdashlar Open Joint Stock Company presented the project on construction of a sugar mill and refinery plant designed for processing 45,000 tons of sugar beet and producing 120,000 tons of sugar annually in Serdar Etrap to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
Among the other facilities to be built in Serdar Etrap is the granulated compound animal foodstuff production plant with the annual capacity of 30,000 tons of products.
The Turkmen leader also considered the progress of construction of a large trading centre in the Avaza National tourist zone. Particular attention was paid to the projects drafted within the framework of the planting programme implemented in Avaza. The President considered the draft designs of the five-star hotels, park and entertainment complexes with water and playing amusement, multilevel car parking, the engineering and communication infrastructure, etc. to be built at the request of the ministries and departments of the country.
The President of Turkmenistan instructed the relevant officials to draft the proposals on the further development of the seaside, including construction of new facilities and underlined the necessity to thoroughly analyze and select the projects.
Upon completion of the presentation, the President of Turkmenistan received the CEO of the Polimeks Company Erol Tabanca. During the meeting the Turkish businessman informed the Turkmen leader on the progress of works on the construction sites and presented the contract concluded between the Polimeks Company and the Professional Windsurfing Association for holding one stage of the 2014 Windsurfing World Cup in Avaza to the President of Turkmenistan.
Emphasizing that the status of the sports sphere serves as an indicator of the economic and cultural prosperity of the country, the Turkmen leader instructed the relevant officials to study and use the new opportunities for more active development of new for Turkmenistan sports, including windsurfing and winter sports included into the programme of the Olympic Games recently.
Wishing those present every success in their work, the Turkmen leader left the venue and headed to the airport in Turkmenbashi and left Balkan Velayat for Ashgabat.
