President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the State Security Council, during which the work done by the military and law enforcement agencies for the first two months of the current year was considered and the key areas of work to maintain peace and security in the country were identified.
Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of National Security Ya. Berdiev reported on the progress of implementation of the complex programme on strengthening the national security and increasing the defensive capacity of the Armed Forces of independent neutral Turkmenistan. The Minister of National Security also reported on the consistent and task-oriented measures taken by the Ministry of National Security to uphold national interests and maintain the social climate in the country.
The Head of the State Border Service M. Yslamov reported on the work done within the period, on existing situation in the spheres under his supervision and the measures taken to fulfill the tasks set to the State Border Service.
Minister of Defence B. Gundogdyev presented the draft of the Decree on dismissal servicemen of the Armed Forces and other troops of Turkmenistan and military conscription to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
Prosecutor General A. Hallyev reported on the work done within January - February to ensure strict observance of law and order in the country.
Minister of Internal Affairs I. Mulikov informed the Turkmen leader on the work done within the reporting period. In particular, I. Mulikov reported on work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan to ensure the social order in the country and prevent any breaches of law.
Chairman of the Supreme Court B. Charyev reported on the work done by the judicial bodies in the reporting period and the measures taken to strengthen discipline and increase the professional level of judges.
Minister of Justice B. Muhamedov reported on the work done within the two months and fulfillment of the Turkmen leader's instructions to improve the existing national legislation system.
Chairman of the State Customs Service A. Hojamgulyev reported on the results of the complex modernization of the infrastructure of the State Customs Service and creation all necessary conditions for the work and life of the specialists of the Custom Service as well as training highly qualified specialists for the sphere.
Chairman of the State Service for the Protection of Security of Healthy Society A. Osmanov reported on the work done in two months of the current year and the measures taken to eradicate drug abuse and struggle against illicit drug trafficking.
Chairman of the State Migration Service D. Bairamov reported on the work done by the State Migration Service in the first two months of the current year.
Commenting on the report of the Chairman of the State Migration Service, the President of Turkmenistan gave him a number of specific instructions an underlined that every specialist of the State Migration Service had to contribute to strengthening the positions of the Turkmen state among the highly developed world countries and increasing its authority. In this regard, particular attention should be paid to the issues of the professional development of specialists working in this sphere as well as creation of all necessary conditions that will meet the high world standards for foreign citizens to follow the migration procedures in our country.
Summing up the discussion, President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need for the well-coordinated activities of the law enforcement agencies which are to stand guard of the political system and wage a relentless struggle against infringements of the law and crimes and ensure the wellbeing and peace of the country.
