President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Islamic State of Afghanistan Mr. Zarar Ahmad Osmani.
In the course of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Islamic State of Afghanistan exchanged views on prospects of further development of bilateral partnership in its priority trends, including in trade-economic sphere, electrical power engineering as well as several other sectors. At that, it was noted the significance of strengthening of traditional cultural-humanitarian contacts as integral part of the Turkmen-Afghan relations.
The subject of interested discussion became the topic of cooperation in transport-communication and fuel-energy spheres in the context of practical realization of the large infrastructural projects – construction of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railway and Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline. In this connection, the guest expressed deep gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for international initiatives he puts forward. All of them are aimed at successive socio-economic development of Afghanistan, maintenance of peace and stability on the Afghan land.
