A solemn meeting dedicated to International Women's Day was held at Ruhiyet Palace with the participation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
In the morning, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived at the Ruhiyet Palace, where women from all the regions of our country, including labour veterans, specialists of different sectors of the national economy, scientists, cultural and art workers, activists of the women's movement, students and schoolgirls had gathered together. Chairperson of the Mejlis, Vice Premiers, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, media representatives, heads of diplomatic missions and representations of international organisations attended the celebrations in honour of women.
The National Anthem of Turkmenistan was performed under the domes of the magnificent conference hall. All ceremony participants joined in singing the deeply patriotic words.
Greeting those present, the Turkmen leader cordially and heartily congratulated all women on International Women's Day, emphasizing that this wonderful holiday painted our lives with bright spring colours, the feeling of deep and sincere gratitude to our dear women and spotlighted their crucial role in the political, economic, social and cultural spheres, in the historical development of our state and the spiritual life of modern society.
The President emphasized that we could proudly say that all opportunities for integrated development of women and implementation of their scientific, intellectual, creative and spiritual potential were created in Turkmenistan and it was what that our society gained from because nature itself ordained women for creation, peace building and care for the younger generation.
Focusing on the tremendous contribution of Turkmen women to the achievements of our country and their sense of civic responsibility, the Turkmen leader expressed his boundless gratitude to women of Turkmenistan for their active participation in fulfilling the important tasks and achieving the critical objectives set to the Turkmen state.
They demonstrate not only their skills and competent approach, but also the ability to think in a new way, vigour and thoroughness. The Turkmen leader said that Turkmen women, who illumine our lives with their beauty, remained gentle, charming, modest and at the same time strong, wise and selfless. The President emphasized that the mother had been waylays viewed in Turkmen society as the fundamental element of not only the family, but also the social order. The sacred mission of woman is to be a mother and bring up children in the spirit of patriotism, humanism, morality.
President of Turkmenistan declared the ceremony of awarding the honorary title Ene Myahri and Zenan Kalby Order to the women, who had selflessly worked at government agencies and public organisations, won high authority and gained the outstanding achievements in industry, agriculture, science, education and other spheres and profoundly contributed to the development of culture and art, opened.
The Turkmen leader reminded that last year he instructed the Ashgabat Khyakim to repair the state residence located on S. Turkmenbashi Avenue and grant these comfortable apartments to the families with many children. The Ashgabat Khyakimlik took the necessary measures to fulfil the Turkmen leader's instructions, and the President presented the keys to comfortable apartments to the families with many children during the awarding ceremony.
Then the President gave the floor to Chairperson of the Mejlis A. Nurberdyeva. The head of the national Parliament read out the Decrees of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the Awarding of Zenan Kalby Order of Turkmenistan and on the Conferring of the Honorary Title Ene Myahri.
The women received with the sense of great pride the high government awards for their outstanding achievements in the implementation of the national programmes, in work and social life and the certificate of conferring the honorary title and the badges from the hands of the national leader.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov presented the keys to the comfortable apartments with modern conveniences to the families with many children. The happy families followed each other on the stage of Ruhiyet Palace, and this part of the ceremony was most emotional due to the participation of children, who expressed their impressions and added the funny and heartfelt tune to the solemn ceremony, thus making its participants smile.
