President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov makes a working trip to Ashgabat and Ahal Velayat

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working helicopter trip to the capital and its suburbs and Ahal Velayat to see the progress in implementing a number of the large-scale construction projects.

The Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov could see the current situation on the construction sites in Ashgabat and examine the progress in implementing the 12th and 13th stage construction projects, which provide for the construction of new social facilities, administrative buildings, etc.

As is known, the 12th construction stage projects were launched on one of the city highways, A. Niyazov Avenue. Facilities and buildings on Oguzhan Street in the south of Ashgabat are being built in the framework of the 13th construction stage projects. It should be noted that these projects are entrusted to Turkmen private construction companies – the members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.


Noting that the appearance of new buildings and facilities should harmoniously combine the age-old traditions of the national art of building and modern architectural achievements, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the unvarying requirements included the high quality of construction and other works and strict adherence to construction schedule.

During the flight the Turkmen leader focused on the issues related to the organization of a nationwide tree planting action – yovar, which will take place on March 15. Vice Premier Sh. Durdylyev showed the Turkmen leader the areas where trees would be planted and reported on the progress in organizing the tree planting action.

When flying by helicopter, the Turkmen leader could see the progress in construction of the Congress Centre Mejlisler merkezi in the south of Ashgabat.

During the flight the Turkmen leader chose a location of a new children’s amusement park Cagalar dunyasi, which will spring up in the neighbourhood of the ring road in the southeast of the capital.

The President of Turkmenistan also examined the progress and pace of construction of facilities and buildings in the north of the capital city and on the territory of Ahal Velayat. During the flight the Turkmen leader could see the agricultural lands. The President paid particular attention to the condition of sown areas and ongoing seasonal agricultural works.

The Turkmen leader could see the construction site of the stables of a horse farm located in Geokdere village in Geoktepe Etrap, Ahal Velayat and apartment houses for its specialists. These facilities are to be built to the west of the International Equestrian Sports Centre.

During the working trip the President could see the construction sites of new villages in Ahal Velayat. One of them is a village with necessary social and economic infrastructure, which meets the modern requirements and the spirit of the time, under construction in the neighbourhood of Yandakly agyz village in Geoktepe Etrap. When flying by helicopter, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov could see the progress of construction works in rural areas and the appearance of the new village.

Then the President’s helicopter landed on the territory of Yasmansalyk village in Derveze Etrap, Ahal Velayat where the Chairperson of the Mejlis, the Vice Premiers, the heads of the ministries and departments concerned, the Ahal Velayat Khyakim and the Ashgabat Khyakim greeted the Turkmen leader. The projects of social and other facilities to be built in the new villages in Ahal Velayat were presented to the President for consideration.

The President considered the general plan of a new village to be built on the territory of Derveze Etrap in Ahal Velayat. The general plan stipulates that the gengeshlik building, school, kindergarten, health centre, sports centre, consumer services centre, shopping centre, shops of food and manufactured goods, post office and fire station would be built. A park will be laid out on the territory of the new village. A total of 1,856 apartment houses are to be built for 2,094 households in the new village. Some of them have been built already. The new village covers a total area of 400 hectares.

The general plan and projects of a settlement to be built on the territory of Gyavers gengeshlik in Ak Bugdai Etrap, Ahal Velayat and a village to be built near Yandakly agyz village in Geoktepe Etrap, Ahal Velayat have been drafted. The Turkmen leader gave specific instructions on the construction of new facilities.

The President visited 2 two-storey apartment houses built for one and two families respectively in the new village to see the conditions created for its residents. Addressing the high-ranking officials, the Turkmen leader instructed them to pay attention to every detail, including home comforts, when building apartment houses for rural workers and take the rural way of life into consideration.

The Turkmen leader focused on the feasibility of establishing the State Commission headed by the Vice Premier in charge of the construction sector and composed of specialists of the Ministry of Construction and a number of government agencies. The Committee will report to the President of Turkmenistan on the readiness of new settlements and villages for putting into operation.

Bidding farewell to those present and wishing them every success in achieving the important objectives, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov left the venue by helicopter.
