President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which domestic policy issues and draft documents were considered.
The Vice Premiers presented the reports focusing on the measures taken to improve the standardization system, including the certification of products and goods imported into the country by natural entities, in compliance with international, regional and national official standard and technical acts in this sphere.
The reports focused on the preparations for the international high-level conference on the development of transport cooperation, which will take place in Ashgabat this September. It was noted that the first preparatory meeting for the conference was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on March 11. The report on the results of the working visit of the Turkmen delegation to Turkey, where bilateral political consultations at the ministerial level were held on March 7, was presented.
The President signed the Decree on the appointment of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation B. Rejepov Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Slovenia. The President signed the Decrees on the conferring of the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to M. Mammetalyev and on the appointment of M. Mammetalyev as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea. The report on the preparations for the II International Festival "Theatrical Art of the Epoch of Might and Happiness", which will be held in the Turkmen capital on April 15-17, and the National Spring Day celebrations was presented.
The report on the construction of the second gas processing plant in the Bagtyyarlyk contract territory, which will supply gas to Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline was presented. Vice Premier P. Taganov reported on the progress in organization of the exhibition and conference of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, which will take place at the Exhibition Centre Sergi kosgi on March 17-18. The exhibition will include over 200 expositions of Turkmen private companies.
The report on the preparation of the business and visit programmes of Turkmenistan-China business forum, which will be held in Ashgabat on March 16, was presented. A Chinese delegation consisting of government agencies and major companies of the People's Republic of China will participate in the forum and bilateral talks to be held in its framework. The information on the preparations for the contest of the research projects to be proposed for funding in 2014-2015 announced by the Academy of Sciences was presented. The report on the preparations for a mass ascension along the Path of Health at the request of public organisations of Turkmenistan to mark the National Spring Day was presented.
During the meeting the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolutions on silkworm cocoon production in 2014, which provides for the production of 2,000 cocoons in the current year, on the improvement of the conduct of auctions to sell abroad marketable products of industrial organisations and enterprises, on the establishment of a base value to determine the rate of voluntary medical insurance fee, on the construction of energy facilities in Ashgabat, on the construction of an Ahalteke horse complex, apartment houses and social and cultural facilities in Ahal Velayat.
Giving his blessing to start sowing cotton in Ahal, Lebap and Mary Velayat on March 26 and in Dashoguz on April 2, the President expressed the hope that following the tradition the important agricultural campaign would be started with the participation of the elders.
The President reprimanded Minister of Water Industry S. Taganov for the unsatisfactory performance of his duties and the shortcomings in the work of the Ministry of Water Industry on provision of the agricultural sector with water resources and demanded that the necessary measures to eliminate the shortcomings be taken.

Installation work on the communication satellite TürkmenÄlem 52.00E, installation of astronomical measuring instruments and communication equipment for all-day management of the satellite was completed, the inspection of the technical characteristics of satellite dishes was conducted.
