President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the top managers of the world leading Korean and Japanese companies: Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LG International Corp. The President of Turkmenistan and his guests exchanged views on priority aspects of cooperation within the framework of the fundamental reforms and large-scale development programmes launched in our country, which create the most favorable conditions for enhancing the mutually beneficial partnership. In this regard, the Turkmen leader and his guests focused on cooperation in the sphere of modernization of processing infrastructure of the fuel and energy sector of Turkmenistan, in particular the gas chemical industry. The top managers of LG International Corp., Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd. and Toyo Engineering Corp. expressed sincere gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for an opportunity provided to the Korean and Japanese companies to take an active part in the implementation of the joint ambitious project - construction of a gas chemical complex in Kiyanly settlement.
As is known, the contract was concluded between the Turkmengaz State Concern and Toyo Engineering Corp. (Japan) and the consortium of companies LG International Corp.n and Hyundai Engineering Corp. Ltd (Republic of Korea) in September 2013 during the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Japan. The annual production capacity of the industrial complex will be 386,000 tons of polyethylene and 81,000 tons of polypropylene.
