Ambassador of Ireland is accredited in Turkmenistan

On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Chairperson of the Mejlis A. Nurberdyeva received letters of credence from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland in Turkmenistan Mr. Eoin O'Lyri.

On behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, the Chairperson of the National Parliament congratulated the distinguished guess on the beginning of the diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan wishing success in his work aimed at developing cooperation between two friendly states.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland in Turkmenistan, in his turn, addressed the best wishes to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the people of Turkmenistan on behalf of the leaders of his state.

During the meeting, the diplomat was briefed on the main aspects of domestic and foreign policies of Turkmenistan, which prioritizes the wide international cooperation at the bilateral and multilateral basis - within the framework of the authoritative international organizations and structures.

Particular attention was paid to the work of the National Parliament and reforms in the legislative sphere, improvement of which will promote achieving the main goals of the state development.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland in Turkmenistan Mr. Eoin O'Lyri note that the business circles of his country were interested in enhancing the mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, which had all necessary prerequisites due to the favorable investment climate and the open-door policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov that contributed to developing relations in the cultural and humanitarian spheres. In this regard, Mr. O'Leary said that he as the plenipotentiary representative of his country in Turkmenistan intended to contribute to fostering the ties of friendship between the peoples of the two countries and the inter-state dialogue meeting the interests of Turkmenistan and Ireland.

Within the framework of the visit to Ashgabat, the diplomat will see the sights of the Turkmen capital, and visit the International Fair and VI International Scientific Conference Turkmen Horses and the Art of the World Horse Breeding.
