President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired an enlarged meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which the important state policy issues and draft documents were considered.
The heads of military and law-enforcement agencies, Khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat, heads of ministries and departments as well as journalists were invited to attend the meeting.
The Vice Premiers presented the reports. It was also reported on the work done to introduce the Altyn Asyr wireless payments system. The samples of MasterCard Maestro, MasterCard Standart, MasterCard Gold, MasterCard Business were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
The President was informed on the results of the elections to the Mejlis members to replace the resigned members on April 20th and the preparations for a regular meeting of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan of the fifth convocation.
The Turkmen leader was also informed on the progress in implementing the architectural and urban-planning programme in the Turkmen capital and preparations for architectural premiers timed to the forthcoming Turkmen Horse Day.
It was also reported on the preparations for the ceremony of opening of the gas-processing plant in the Bagtyyarlyk deposit on the right bank of the Amu Darya River and implementation of another investment project - construction of the second plant on production of tank gas at the Galkynysh gas deposit. The production capacity of the new plant will be 30 billion cubic metres of gas per year. It was reported on the progress of works on reconstruction and modernization of Ashgabat and Abadan plants on panel construction and Demirbetononumleri plant in Turkmenabat.
The Turkmen leader was informed on the preparations for participation in the International Exhibition of the Silk Road Economic Zone in the People's Republic of China on May 23-26. Turkmen carpets and carpet articles, hand made products, souvenirs, national dresses produced by the non-governmental sector will be showcased at the exposition.
The President was also informed that new airliner Boeing 777-200LR built at the request of Turkmenistan would arrive soon, 60 automated telephone stations would be put into operation, and more than 63 telephone points would be mounted.
It was reported on the progress of works on reconstruction and construction of highways and the measures taken to allocate lands for construction of modern villages and settlements in the regions.
During the meeting, the President signed the Decree "On awarding presents on occasion of the 69th anniversary of the Victory in 1941-1945 War".
Signing the Resolution On production of rice in Turkmenistan in 2014, the President gave a number of specific instructions regarding creation of all necessary conditions for increasing agricultural production and ensuring the food abundance in the country.
The President of Turkmenistan focused on the further improvement and development of the system of higher education, in particular on establishment of the International University providing education in the English language.
