Presidents of Turkmenistan, Turkey and the Republic of Tatarstan attend the festivities at the International equestrian sport complex
The festivities on occasion of the Turkmen Horse Day took place throughout the country. The venue for the main events of the holiday was the International equestrian sport complex that gathered together thousands Turkmen citizens and numerous guests to the Turkmen capital.
The Chairperson of the Mejlis, the cabinet ministers, the ambassadors of foreign states in Turkmenistan, the heads of ministries and departments, journalists greeted President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gul and President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov at the International equestrian sport complex. Among the ceremony participants were the elders, the representatives of the Turkmen and foreign mass media, the delegates of the international forums on horse breeding, which had been held recently in the Turkmen capital, the representatives of public organisations and young citizens of Ashgabat.
The group of Turkmen drummers and artists from Turkey and Tatarstan greeted the distinguished guests with musical performances at the main building of the complex.
The festive programme started with the performance of the Galkynysh equestrian sport group. Daring Turkmen horsemen and graceful young riders riding beautiful Ahalteke horses demonstrated their talents and riding skills creating amazing and truly national show with the unique colour and circus art.
Then riders with flags of Turkmenistan, Turkey and Republic of Tatarstan appeared on the race tracks. The festive performance continued with the national dance "Kushtepti" performed by beautiful horses.
The horse races started. The festive tournament included seven rounds and for the first time, Arab horses participated in the competitions. The car keys and Cups of the President of Turkmenistan and the President of the Republic of Turkey were presented to winners of the competitions.
Then the ceremony of awarding prizes to winners in the festive horse races and other equestrian sport tournaments was held.
Upon conclusion of the festivities, an official dinner in honour of the distinguished guests was given on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan.
Leaving the venue of the festivities, the heads of the states visited the Mosque paying tribute to the historical and cultural traditions of the peoples of the three states and the spiritual and moral values.
In the afternoon, the President of the Republic of Turkey and the President of the Republic of Tatarstan left the Turkmen capital for their countries.
