President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received famous director from People’s Republic of China Chang Imou, who is on a visit in our country.
In the course of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and his guest exchanged views on possibilities of the Turkmen-Chinese cooperation in cultural sphere, where most favorable prospects are opened for further expansion and deepening of traditional partnership, establishment of its new forms, including in the field of filmmaking. In this context, Mr. Chang Imou noted that China shows huge interest in Turkmenistan, which was also reflected in his film about Akhalteke racers.
One of the vital spheres of cooperation is also the sphere of organization of large solemnities and mass-cultural events on the occasion of significant dates, including sport competitions of international level, where Turkmenistan is interested in involvement of the leading world experience and innovation technologies. In this regard, the experience of China, which has repeatedly hosted prestigious international contests, including XXIX Summer Olympic Games of 2008, is quite interesting. As is known, chief director of the opening and closing ceremonies of Olympic Games in Beijing was director Chang Imou.
Sharing with his impressions about stay in Turkmenistan, Mr. Chang Imou emphasized that it is his first visit to our country and hopes to arrive here frequently.
