President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the governor of Astrakhan oblast of the Russian Federation Alexander Zhilkin, who arrived in the Turkmen capital for participation in solemnities on the occasion of celebration of the 290th anniversary of classic of Turkmen literature Magtymguly Phragy.
Having thanked for spared time and possibility in personal meeting to congratulate the nation leader and all residents of Turkmenistan on significant date, the Russian governor expressed gratitude for awarding him with high prize – medal of Turkmenistan “Magtymguly Phragy”.
As the head of one of the largest regions of the Russian Federation noted, old economic and cultural ties connect Turkmenistan with Astrakhan oblast. One of the largest in Russia Turkmen diasporas reside there. In honor of great humanist-thinker and poet, festive solemnities will take place in Astrakhan.
