Turkmenistan widely celebrated the Constitution Day and the Day of Revival, Unity and Poetry of Magtymguly Fraghi on May 18. The festivities started with the ceremony of laying flowers to the Monument of Constitution in the picturesque foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains early in the morning. Cabinet ministers, heads of Mejlis, ministries and departments, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Turkmenistan, the elders, representatives of public organisations as well as citizens of the Turkmen capital arrived there to take part in the celebrations.
Later that day, thousands peoples of Ashgabat and guests to the Turkmen capital as well as Turkmen poets and writers participated in the festive ceremony arranged near the monument to the great Turkmen poet and thinker in the square in the heart of the Turkmen capital. Mgtymguly’s poems sounded there as a hymn to the Turkmen people’s centuries-old dream and a colourful carpet covered the pedestal of the monument symbolized the people’s boundless love and respect to the great sun of the nation.
