President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs.
During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and his guest expressed belief that consistent implementation of agreements achieved within the framework of top level meetings and due to the work of the Intergovernmental commission for economic, industrial, scientific and technological cooperation would promote enhancing and strengthening relations between Turkmenistan and Latvia.
The Turkmen leader and his guest expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Latvia built at the bilateral and multilateral level - within the framework of large international organisations and authoritative regional structures, including the UN and OSCE. In this regard, particular attention was paid to the prospects of development of relations between the two states in the framework of the dialogue between Turkmenistan and the EU in the context of Latvian presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first six months of 2015.
The President of Turkmenistan and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia specified education, in particular training of highly qualified specialists and exchange of experience between specialists of the both countries as a priority area of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Latvia.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republicof Latvia to Turkmenistan Igors Apokins attended the meeting.
