President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a working videoconference meeting with the Vice Premiers, the heads of a number of ministries and the khyakims of the regions and Ashgabat. The meeting agenda focused on the priority aspects of the ongoing large-scale programmes of reforms aimed at sustainable social and economic development of the regions and the country and other important domestic policy issues.
The Vice Premiers and the khyakims of the regions presented the reports on the measures taken to beautify Ashgabat, the progress in implementing construction projects in the capital and the preparations of the Ashgabat Day and Turkmen Carpet Day festivities.
The reports focused on the progress of seasonal agricultural work, the preparations for the harvest campaign and the measures taken to protect the crops from pests. The khyakims reported on the preparations of the Turkmen Carpet Day festivities.
The proposals on the allocation of plots of land for farmers associations, ministries and departments and the layouts of the plots were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
The meeting participants reported on the measures taken to ensure sale of electronic train tickets, the progress of construction work on a section of the North-South transnational railway.
Summing up the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the implementation of the comprehensive programmes of reforms in all the regions of the country would contribute to enhancing economic strength of the country and improving the welfare of the people.
