President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America Mr Robert Eugene Patterson, who was completing his diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity of a personal meeting, the diplomat noted that he would always keep the brightest and most sincere memories of Turkmenistan, where he had worked for several years, and certainly of the diligent, solidary and wise Turkmen people, whom he regarded as a model of cordiality and hospitality.
Dwelling upon the existing potential for further diversifying interstate cooperation successfully built in bilateral and multilateral formats, including within the authoritative international organisations, the President of Turkmenistan and his guest expressed belief that mutually beneficial trade, economic and cultural contacts would develop.
Emphasis was placed on the significant role of U.S.-Turkmenistan Business Council in promoting economic partnership and organizing joint exhibitions and business forums to facilitate mutually beneficial cooperation. The intensification of contacts between business circles contributes to strengthening the long-term economic and trade ties between the two countries, expanding partnership with U.S. manufacturers and attracting investment.
The sides noted with satisfaction that the participation of scientists, educational professionals and cultural workers of the two countries in international exhibitions, conferences, Days of Culture, art exhibitions and Days of Cinematography contributed to building up friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the United States. Expanding the scope of joint cultural and humanitarian actions makes it possible to bring relations between Turkmenistan and the United States to a new level and facilitate mutual understanding between the two peoples and mutual enrichment of cultures.
