President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which priority state policy issues and draft documents were considered.
Before presenting the meeting agenda, the Turkmen leader noted that two remarkable dates - Turkmen Carpet Day and Ashgabat Day - would be celebrated throughout the country this Sunday. The President heartily congratulated the cabinet ministers and the Turkmen people on the holidays and expressed his best wishes. The Vice Premiers presented the reports on the draft plan of activities for the second half of the current year including a number of visits of the Turkmen leader to foreign countries and visits of foreign leaders to our country. Our country would host a number of major international forums, including those on migration and statelessness issues, intensification of cooperation in transport, among others.
The information on the programme of cultural actions and building premieres scheduled for June was presented. These include the festivities in honour of the remarkable dates, such as the International Children's Day, Day of Textile Workers, Science Day, Day of Cultural and Art Workers and World Environment Day. The major events of the month include the Week of Culture, which will take place in Dashoguz from 23 to 30 June this year.
The information on the outcomes of the V International Gas Congress and the Oil and Gas Exhibition, which took place in the Avaza national tourism zone on May 20-22, was presented. The report on the preparations for the International Exhibition and Conference on the development of textile industry, which will be held on June 1-3, was presented. The report on the preparations for the participation of the Turkmen delegation in the 155th session of the General Assembly of the International Exhibitions Bureau, which will be held in the capital of France on June 11, was presented.
The report on the preparations for the XIII International Universal Exhibition and Conference "White City Ashgabat" and the opening ceremonies of the monument "My White City Ashgabat" and Ashgabat amusement park after reconstruction to held to mark Ashgabat Day was presented.
The information on seasonal agricultural activities in the regions was presented. It was noted that agricultural workers were preparing actively for the harvest campaign. They were also engaged in taking care of cotton plantations, including inter-row cultivation, weeding and application of mineral fertilizers on the fields.
The information on the progress in implementing the development plan of the Turkmenbashi international seaport and the merchant navy of Turkmenistan for the period till 2020, reconstruction and repair of railways in the country was presented. The report on the preparations for construction of the 240-km highway along the route Turkmenbashi-Garabogaz-Kazakhstan border, phased reconstruction and construction of the highways Archman-Turkmenbashi, Ashgabat-Mary, Mary-Turkmenabat, Turkmenabat-Farab and Ashgabat-Karakum-Dashoguz, the operation of the bridges throughout the country and the measures taken to maintain them in working condition was poresented.
The President of Turkmenistan issued the Resolution on the development of the State budget for 2015, the Regulation on licensing of passenger transportation by passenger vehicles, the Decree on the conferment of the honorary title of Honoured Carpet Maker of Turkmenistan to carpet makers who had gained outstanding labour achievements.
The President signed the Resolution on the approval of the National Strategy for 2014-2020 for the implementation of the Ashgabat Declaration on the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases. The document provides for the approval of the National Strategy for 2014-2020 to achieve the objectives of the Ashgabat Declaration on the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases in the Context of Health 2020 and the membership of the National Coordinating Council to implement the Strategy.
The President signed the Resolution on the organisation of a Session of the Conference of the Parties to the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea and the Order on the allocation of plots of land to the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and its members.
