President of Turkmenistan is on a working visit to Balkan Velayat

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov left for Balkan Velayat on a working visit. The officials bade farewell to the Turkmen leader at the international airport in Ashgabat.

After arriving at the international airport in Turkmenbashi, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a working meeting with the Vice Premiers and the Balkan Velayat Khyakim.

Dwelling upon the areas of development of the basic sectors of the national economy, such as transport and communications, construction, textile industry, agriculture, the multifaceted activities carried out throughout the country, including Balkan Velayat, the Turkmen leader focused on the modernization of the oil and gas industry and transport infrastructure in the region.

The Vice Premiers presented the reports on the measures taken in Balkan Velayat to improve the working and living conditions of oil and gas industry workers, in particular on the acceleration of the pace of construction of apartment houses for local workers and their families.

The information on the progress in implementing the large-scale construction projects, the measures taken to modernize the Turkmenbashi international seaport and the preparation of the presentations of new seaport development projects was presented.

The report on the measures taken to increase the production capacity of the textile industry and the activities of the chemical works located in Balkan Velayat, which are of particular importance for the industrial sector of the national economy, was presented.

The report on the phased reconstruction and construction of highways and the progress of seasonal agricultural activities, including the preparations for the harvest campaign, was presented.

The President expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of the textile industry, the pace and quality of the road construction and maintenance activities. Dwelling upon the current situation on the construction sites in the territory of Balkan Velayat, the Turkmen leader expressed dissatisfaction with poor management of construction work in towns and villages of the region. The President demanded that the Balkan Velayat Khyakim should improve the efficiency of the work in the region and the Avaza national tourism zone.

Summing up the results of the working meeting, the Turkmen leader focused once again on the need for a responsible and comprehensive approach to achieve the major development objectives in all the sectors of the national economy.
