President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which priority issues of the state policy and draft documents were considered.
The Vice Premiers presented the reports. The report on the programme of an official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Turkey scheduled for early June was presented.
The report on the measures taken to include historic and cultural monument of Turkmenistan in the World Heritage List of UNESCO was presented. The meeting participants reported on the preparation of the festivities in honour of the International Children's Day, which will take place at children's recreational centres in Geokdere and the Avaza national tourism zone, cultural and entertainment centres in Ashgabat and the regions of the country and the opening ceremonies of preschool institutions dedicated to the holiday.
The information about the results of the evaluation of commercial reserves in two basalt deposits in Balkan Velayat was presented. The rock samples extracted from these deposits were examined and the prototype of basalt fibre was made. Currently, specialists of Turkmengeologiya State Corporation and Turkmennebitgazgurlusyk State Concern are developing a feasibility study and project documentation for the construction of two plants that will produce ultrafine basalt fibre and insulating composite building materials.
It was noted that the State Committee for Fisheries took the measures to develop new water ponds in order to increase fish farming and production in the country. The necessary work is being done to boost industrial fishing in the Altyn Asyr Turkmen Lake, where the sufficient amount of fry is to be farmed. The reconstruction of artificial ponds and reservoirs has started. The information on the progress of the construction of two fishing refrigerator ships for Turkmenistan and multipurpose vessel at a shipyard in China was presented.
The report on the preparations for the 5th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmenistan-Turkey Commission for economic cooperation, which will be held on June 1, and Turkmenistan-Turkey business forum scheduled for June 3 was presented. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution on the winners of the contest among young scientists.
The report on the measures taken to develop and beautify the Turkmen capital was presented. The projects for the reconstruction of Archabil Hotel (former President Hotel) located in the city highway Archabil Avenue were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
It was reported that 2,024 combine harvesters would be engaged in the harvest campaign throughout the country. Over 8,000 trucks will deliver grain to 155 procurement stations, barns and grain elevators. The information on the preparation of the versatile programme of the festivities in honour of World Environment Day celebrated on June 5 was presented.
The Turkmen leader gave his blessing to the harvest campaign in Ahal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary Velayat on June 4 and in Dashoguz Velayat on June 15. The information on the measures taken to purchase railway equipment and the progress of the construction of Bereket-Etrek section of the North-South railway and Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi autobahn was presented.
It was noted that apartment houses with modern conveniences were built for military and law enforcement officers and the measures were taken to improve social and living conditions of military servants and their families in accordance with the instructions and recommendations of President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the General of Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Apartment buildings are built in Ashgabat and the regions of the country. In this context, the information on the progress of the construction of a hotel for the defenders of the Motherland and their families was presented.
