Top level talks between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Malaysia Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak will take place in Ashgabat on June 10.
During the June 6 meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined the importance of the official visit of the Prime Minister of the friendly country and expressed belief that the bilateral meeting would become another efficient step towards comprehensive enhancement of the Turkmen-Malaysian cooperation.
As is known, according to the Concept of the Foreign-Policy Course of Turkmenistan for 2013-2017 adopted by the President of Turkmenistan, the Embassies of our country were opened in Malaysia last year.
The state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Malaysia in December, 2011 that started the new stage in the history of relations between Turkmenistan and Malaysia, resulted in achieving a number of important agreements aimed at comprehensive diversification of the traditional partnership.
The main factor of the constructive dialogue established between our countries within the last years is the mutual interest and aspiration of the two states for enhancing fruitful cooperation that is vividly proved by the regular visits of delegations of various levels.
The upcoming talks in Ashgabat, which will focus on priorities and further vectors of development of the Turkmen-Malaysian cooperation, will offer a new powerful incentive to the long-term interstate dialogue built on the principals of equality of national interests and important tasks of the social and economic development of the two friendly states. It is expected that the talks will also focus on the issues of regional and international policy.
The open-door policy pursued by Turkmenistan, favorable investment climate created in the country as well as huge experience of joint work, including successful implementation of important investment project in particular in the strategic oil and gas sphere provide vast opportunities for efficient economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Malaysia.
That is vividly testified by the work of the famous Malaysian Company Petronas Charigali, which is engaged in exploring and producing hydrocarbon resources on the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea and training Turkmen specialists. There are also huge prospects for cooperation in the sphere of tourism.
Humanitarian cooperation that is an important and integral part of the intergovernmental dialogue was filled with new content. In particular, efficient relations were established in such areas as science, culture, and education.
All these testify that the agreements to be achieved based on the upcoming talks in the Turkmen capital which will be reflected in the bilateral documents to be signed, will promote enriching the constructive interstate dialogue satisfying the long-term interests of Turkmenistan and Malaysia.
