President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich, who arrived in Turkmenistan leading a government delegation of his country.
The Turkmen leader and his guest exchanged views on the prospects of Turkmen-Belarusian cooperation in the context of bilateral agreements. The trade, economic, transport, machine building, agricultural, energy, processing and chemical sectors were mentioned among others as key areas for partnership. Emphasizing the importance of enhancing humanitarian contacts, the sides called for building up fruitful contacts in culture, education and science.
Then the governmental delegations joined in the talks. The sides discussed a broad range of issues related to the intensification and diversification of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries and specified a number of measures to be taken in this context. In particular, emphasis was placed on the possibilities to implement joint innovative investment projects, providing ample opportunities to conduct research activities and establish joint ventures, which would use the latest technology and scientific and technical advances.
