President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov participated in the ceremony of opening of the Technology Centre that will be a key element of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. The ceremony took place on the Science Day.
The original architectural design of the rounded central building of the complex reflects the ideas of engineers and constrictors, whereas the other buildings of the complex are built in monolithic cubic volumes resembling book volumes on scientist’s table.
The Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, cabinet ministers, heads of military and law-enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, as heads of diplomatic missions and international organisations, foreign businessmen, and journalists gathered together there to take part in the ceremony. Among the ceremony participants were the delegates of the International scientific conference “Science, Technology and Innovations in the Epoch of Mighty and Happiness” as well as numerous scientists and youth.
Among the Guest of Honour to the ceremony were Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Michail Myasnikovich, Nobel Laureate in Cemistry - Japanese scientist Ei-ichi Negishi and Israeli scientist Ada Yonath, Director General of the World Health Organization Margaret Chan.
Congratulating all those present on the Science Day and opening new Technology Centre, the Turkmen leader noted that it was impossible to imagine life without science at present.
Underlining that the Centre will be aimed at developing competitive technologies and conducting fundamental researches, the President specified eight key directions of its work.
Among them are researches in the sphere of innovative technologies for agricultural complex, ecology, and efficient use of natural resources, as well as fuel and energy sector and resource saving.
Then the President of Turkmenistan cut the symbolic ribbon opening the new institution.
The President visited offices and laboratories of the new Technology Centre and got acquainted with the working conditions of the new institution.
In the Conference Hall of the Technology Centre, President Gurbangly Berdimuhamedov conducted a meeting, during which the Turkmen leader specified the key tasks set to the new subdivision of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
The President signed the Resolution on the appointment of M. Gurbannyyazov Director of the Centre of Technologies of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
