The official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Hungary completes

On the final day of an official visit to Hungary, the President of Turkmenistan met with heads of leading companies in Hungary and participated in the ceremony of laying flowers to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Heroes’ Square in Budapest.

The meeting with Hungarian businessmen was organized in the Sechenii Hall at the Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace and was held in the format of business breakfast.

Representatives of state and financial structures, largest corporations, firms and companies of Hungary, including Gedeon Richter, MVM, Concorde Travel, and others as well as members of the government delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the meeting.

Speaking about the high interest in establishing full-scale cooperation with Turkmenistan, heads of Hungarian companies underlined the willingness to take an active part in the projects initiated by the Turkmen leader, in particular on creation and equipment of modern social and cultural facilities, modernization of transport and communication infrastructure, information technologies, agriculture, textile, chemical, pharmaceutical industries, etc.

Speaking during the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan and Hungary were reliable partners in the sphere of international business and built cooperation on mutually beneficial basis following the principles of integrity and high business reputation.

Speaking about the prospects of enhancing business cooperation between Turkmenistan and Hungary, the Turkmen leader focused on the results of the top-level talks in Budapest. The leaders of Turkmenistan and Hungary discussed the status and prospects of the trade and economic cooperation focusing on the huge potential of the private sector of the both countries.

Providing the arguments in favour of the mutually beneficial partnership, the President of Turkmenistan specified a number of industries of the Turkmen economy favourable for investments.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the prospects of fruitful cooperation of the two states in implementation of important projects of the transport infrastructure, in such spheres as pharmaceutics, textile industry, construction sphere, tourism, and invited Hungarian businessmen to visit our country to study the opportunities of the mutually beneficial partnership.

Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary Zsolt Semjén confirmed the interest of Hungarian business in dynamically developing Turkmen economy and underlined that Turkmenistan was a very attractive country with huge potential and a reliable partner.

The fact that over 20 Hungarians companies and financial structures, including those ones that are known in Turkmenistan as well as those wishing to explore the Turkmen market, participated in the meeting testifies to its significance.

Upon completion of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan headed to the Heroes’ Square to lay flowers to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Then the Turkmen leader headed to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport and left Hungary for Turkmenistan.

High-ranking officials greeted the President of Turkmenistan at the Ashgabat Airport.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a meeting with the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Vice Premiers and heads of military and law-enforcement agencies at the airport building.

Specifying the tasks set on the results of the official visit to Hungary, the Turkmen leader gave floor to Vice Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov.

Noting that businessmen of Hungary expressed interest in developing relations with such reliable partner as Turkmenistan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan underlined the significance of the agreements achieved in various spheres for widening relations between Turkmenistan and European countries.

Commenting on the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the relevant officials to take all necessary measures to enhance cooperation in the sphere of energy safety, trade and economy.

The Turkmen leader also demanded to specify the areas of cooperation with Hungarian partners particularly in such areas as healthcare and medical industry, agriculture, tourism, sport, education, science as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Then participants of the meetings reported on the existing situation in the spheres under their supervision, and fulfillment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions.

During the meeting, the President also focused on the tasks set to the spheres of science, education, culture, and gave specific instructions to the relevant officials underlining the significance of enhancing the spiritual wealth of people, encouraging youth for scientific research practices.

The President also underlined the importance of increasing the export potential and production capacities of the country, and developing international cooperation based on the principles of openness, equality and mutual respect.
