The President of Turkmenistan issued the Decree on Admission to Citizenship of Turkmenistan. In accordance with the document, the citizenship of Turkmenistan is to be granted to 786 stateless persons residing in the territory of Turkmenistan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Migration Service jointly with other ministries and agencies involved are to continue to prepare the necessary documents for stateless persons, who have applied for citizenship of Turkmenistan, and submit the appropriate proposals to the President of Turkmenistan for consideration.

In 2011 and 2013, Turkmen citizenship was granted to 4,000 stateless persons, who been permanently resided in the country.
