President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Director General of the TURKSOY International Organization of Turkic Culture Duisenbay Kaseinov.
The President of Turkmenistan and his guest exchanged their views on the priority aspects of cooperation underlining the significance of further enhancement of fruitful relations in the sphere of culture and art. Particular attention was paid to declaration of Mary as Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2015. In this regard, the Turkmen leader and his guest expressed belief that this event would contribute to further strengthening friendly relations between peoples of Turkic speaking countries and the whole world as well.
On behalf of Ministers of Culture of Turkic speaking states, the TURKSOY Director General awarded a symbolic composition, a unique illustration to the legend about Oguzkhan to the President of Turkmenistan. The legend tells as a founder of the Turkmen nation demonstrated the strength of unity to his sons by first taking one arrow and breaking it, then bundling several arrows together and showing how the bundle could not be broken. There is an inscription on the composition telling “Life is in unity!” The guest noted that this gift symbolized the deep respect and recognition of the Turkmen leader’s merits in enhancing the ties of friendship and cultural cooperation between the peoples f the Turkic speaking states.
