President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Turkmenistan Mr Nagendra Prasad, who awarded letters of credentials to the Turkmen leader.
The diplomat expressed deep gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the opportunity to discuss the potential for development of the intergovernmental cooperation during a personal meeting.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated the diplomat on the appointment to the post and wished him every success in his notable mission aimed at intensification of the long-term fruitful partnership between Turkmenistan and India.
It was noted that the common approaches and ideas of Turkmenistan and India regarding the important issues of the international agenda provided foundation for the high level of confidence that served as a basis for further development of the mutually beneficial cooperation established between Turkmenistan and India within the last years. Particular attention was paid to the trade and economic relations, and in particular the prospects for implementation of joint projects, first of all, the project on construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline.
