During the visit to Balkan Velayat President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited Karshi settlement located 80 kilometres from Avaza on the Caspian seashore that is famous for the healing springs.
In the morning, the President's helicopter landed on the special platform near Karshi health improvement centre on the Caspian seashore. The Vice Premiers, the Chairperson of Mejlis, the heads of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments and the Balkan Velayat Khyakim greeted the Turkmen leader on the venue.
The Turkmen leader greeted those present and headed to the pavilion where the drawing boards were installed.
Vice Premier A. Yazmyradov reported on the measures taken to supply clean drinking water to the population and presented the project of the desalination unit with capacity of 780,000 cubic metres per day to the President for consideration.
Chairman of the Academy of Sciences A. Mezilov reported on the measures taken to study water resources in the country and apply scientific achievements to build water treatment facilities.
Minister of Water Industry S. Taganov reported on the measures taken to supply clean drinking water to the population and build water treatment facilities the country.
Minister of Nature Protection B. Annabairamov reported on the measures taken to protect nature and ensure environmental safety of buildings and facilities under construction.

Minister of Health and Medical Industry M. Amannepesov presented the draft designs of health facilities to be built in Ashgabat to the President for consideration.
The project of the Neurology Centre to be built in Ashgabat was presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration. The building complex of the new health facility will cover a total area of 23,338 square metres. The maintenance department and car park will be built on adjacent territory. The construction site will cover a total area of 4.5 hectares.
The President considered the project of the Development and Production Food Centre to be built on an area of 4.2 hectares. The building complex of the Centre will include the office building, laboratory and storehouse for injections.
The projects of the Morphology Centre that will house the buildings of the central forensic medicine departments, pathological anatomy departments, a number of departments of the Medical University and the Centre for Prevention of Dangerous Communicable Diseases that will include the office building, laboratory, vivarium for laboratory animals and car park for a mobile laboratory was presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration. These facilities will be built in the north of the capital.
The project of the health improvement and rehabilitation centre to be built in the Avaza national tourism zone was presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration. The President gave the relevant high-ranking officials the instructions on the construction of the centre during his recent working visit to Balkan Velayat.
The Turkmen leader provided specific comments on the projects and gave specific recommendations to the project designers on the architectural look and the improvement of adjacent territory. The President demanded that the feasibility study should be conducted thoroughly.

The President walked along the bank of the spring and reached its mouth, where the life-giving water flows into the sea. The Turkmen leader gave the relevant high-ranking officials the instructions on the construction a sanatorium and create a resort area near Karshi spring.
