President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected the progress of construction works in white-marble Ashgabat and its suburbs and considered the action plan for implementation of new ambitious projects during the working trip to the capital.
The Turkmen leader arrived at the helicopter pad in the morning. The President visited first the construction sites of buildings and facilities under construction at the request of the Ministry of Defence to see the progress of large-scale construction work. Then the Turkmen leader flew a helicopter around the city to see the progress in implementing the 12th and 13th construction stage projects and construction of administrative buildings, social and other facilities in Ashgabat.
The Turkmen leader could see the buildings and facilities under construction in the Olympic Village. The Turkmen leader inspected the progress of construction works on Archabil Avenue, a park located between the Monument to the Constitution of Turkmenistan and the Alem cultural and entertainment centre and the Congress Centre building.
Then the President’s helicopter headed from the south to the east of the city, where the Turkmen leader could see the location of new buildings and facilities in Parahat 7 housing estate. The President dwelt upon the issues related to further development of the housing estate.
Then the President’s helicopter headed to the north-east of Ashgabat, where the Turkmen leader could see the progress of construction work on a multilane highway bridge located at the intersection of the avenues.
Then the Turkmen leader inspected the progress of construction work on the international bus terminal, the new international airport and a number of cottages in the north of Ashgabat.
On board the helicopter the Turkmen leader could see the progress of construction work in a new model settlement located in Dervese Etrap in Ahal Velayat. When heading to the south of the city, the President’s helicopter flew above Keshi housing estate, where a number of apartment houses were under construction. The Turkmen leader inspected the progress of construction work in the housing estate.
The helicopter landed near the Ashgabat stadium. It should be noted that the temporary arena for motorsport competitions used to be located in the place where the President’s helicopter had landed. A new arena for motorsport competitions was built in the north of Ashgabat. In this regard, the Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov suggested building a new sport facility in the place of the temporary motordrome. Ashgabat Hyakim R. Nurmammedov put forward the proposal to build three tennis courts in the place of the temporary motordrome, where professionals as well as amateur sportsmen could play tennis.
The projects of the next construction stage were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration. These particularly included the draft designs of buildings and facilities to be built on Oguzhan Street.
Minister of Internal Affairs I. Mulikov presented the project of the administrative building of the Guard Department to the Turkmen leader for consideration. Approving the project in whole, the President instructed to ensure that favourable conditions for fruitful activities and recreation of military servants would be created at all the buildings and facilities under construction so that they could improve their physical qualification and carry out leisure activities.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov considered the projects on the refurbishment of the buildings located in this part of the city and the improvement of adjacent territories.
The projects of new important social and cultural facilities to be built in different parts of the city and the project on the refurbishment of Grand Turkmen Hotel located in the centre of Ashgabat were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
Vice Premier M. Artykov presented the draft designs of apartment houses developed by specialists of the Ministry of Construction and Architecture to the President for consideration. These apartment houses are to be built in Ashgabat under the 14th construction stage project.
After considering the projects of future buildings and facilities, including comfortable apartment houses that thousands of Ashgabat citizens would move to the Turkmen leader suggested building similar facilities under the 15th construction stage project.
It was noted that construction work under the 15th construction stage project would start on Seidi Street and Mollanepes Street and move to Tegeranskaya Street. Focusing once again on the need to take the natural features and terrain of the site to be developed into consideration, the President instructed to conduct in-depth analysis of the building planning principles and the feasibility study for construction of three- and four-storey apartment houses and cottages and gave specific instructions to the high-rankling officials.
