President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a working videoconference meeting with the hyakims of the regions and Ashgabat. The meeting agenda covered the issues related to social and economic development of the regions and capital city, the implementation of the national reform programme and other key aspects of the life of the state and society.
The Turkmen leader began the meeting by discussing the current situation in the regions, focusing on ongoing activities in the agro-industrial sector in the context of the important agricultural campaigns launched throughout the country.
On behalf of all citizens of Turkmenistan the heads of administration of the regions and Ashgabat heartily congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on the conferment of the honorary title Türkmenistanyň ussat halypa çapyksuwary. Emphasis was placed on the outstanding services of the leader of Turkmenistan in reviving and promoting the national art of horse breeding and maintaining its traditions in the present epoch.
Reporting on the progress in sowing winter wheat and harvesting cotton in the regions, the hyakims informed the Turkmen leader on the measures taken to ensure the effective and efficient operation of agricultural machines and equipment engaged in the campaigns and create favourable living and working conditions for farmers. The information on the progress in implementing the construction projects in the regions and capital city, the comprehensive measures taken to beautify Ashgabat and further modernize urban infrastructure and the preparations for the upcoming national holiday - Independence Day and a meeting of the Elders' Council, which will take place in Lebap Velayat, was presented.
Commenting on the reports and focusing on the issues related to the agricultural campaigns, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave the hyakims specific instructions on the management of the sowing campaign in a number of etraps. Emphasizing the critical role of the seasonal agricultural campaigns, the Turkmen leader demanded that the necessary measures should be taken to increase the pace of sowing winter crops and harvesting 'white gold'.
Also, the President instructed the high-ranking officials to keep strict control over the quality of building works and compliance with construction schedule and the preparations for the Independence Day celebrations. Touching upon the regular meeting of the Elders' Council, the Turkmen leader focused on the need to thoroughly study the proposals from citizens regarding the issues to be put on the meeting agenda.

Dwelling upon the issues related to the development and beautification of Ashgabat, the President instructed that city streets and avenues should be kept neat and maintained properly, and effective and uninterrupted operation of supply systems in Ashgabat should be ensured.
