President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the opening ceremonies of a number of social and industrial facilities and inspected the progress in implementing the national social and economic development programmes and the agricultural campaigns during his working trip to Dashoguz Velayat.
The Chairperson of Mejlis, cabinet ministers, high-ranking officials of the military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, public organisations, hyakims of the regions, heads of diplomatic missions and international organisations accredited in Turkmenistan, cultural workers and media representatives greeted the Turkmen leader on the square in front of the new building of the Dashoguz Velayat library.
Addressing the ceremony participants, the President of Turkmenistan congratulated them on the opening of the new social and cultural facilities in Dashoguz.
The President noted that the new building of the Dashoguz Velayat library equipped in compliance with the highest international standards could house 600 readers simultaneously. The library has the necessary facilities to properly store one million books and other printed materials. In his congratulatory address President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov mentioned the opening ceremonies of other facilities in Dashoguz, including the multitype market, on the territory of which about 600 stores and over 1,000 outlets will be located. The new seven-storey hotel for 350 visitors will adorn Dashoguz.
Another important facility to be put into operation on that day was the plant producing sterile dressings.
Then the Turkmen leader headed to the entrance of the Dashoguz Velayat library. The President cut the ribbon and entered the building.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov could see electronic equipment, including touch devices used to search for the information in the online catalogue and read electronic books, in the foyer of the library on the first floor. Visitors will receive electronic subscription cards in the foyer.
The President could see the book exhibition consisting of the works of Turkmen classical literature - its 'golden' fund' - in the Miras room. The works by the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly have a special place in the book exhibition.
Then the President visited the Internet room where he asked the local specialists about the range of services provided to visitors. The Turkmen leader visited the book history museum where the ancient manuscripts and other rarities aroused his great interest. Then President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov headed to the second floor, which is occupied by reading rooms, where the Turkmen leader could learn about the methods of rendering library services to readers.
The President visited the observatory located on the upper floors of the building. After that the Turkmen leader went on the first floor of the library, where he wrote an entry to the Book of Guests of Honour.
The Turkmen leader bade a cordial farewell to the ceremony participants and left the library. The Turkmen leader headed to the venue for the opening ceremony of another facility to be put into operation on that day: the largest shopping centre in the region - Dashoguz multitype market. The new market is designed as the national carpet pattern like the similar facilities in the regions of the country.
Then the President drove to the seven-storey building of Dashoguz Hotel. In a solemn atmosphere the Turkmen leader cut the ribbon and entered the hall of the new building. The hotel has 187 rooms where 350 guests can stay simultaneously. The Turkmen leader asked a local specialist in detail about equipment of the building, a range of services rendered to guests and working conditions of the local staff.

The President's car headed to the agricultural fields located nearby the ceremony venue. The Turkmen leader visited the field of a tenant farmer Merdan Ovezov in Jumaniyaz Hudaibergenov farmers association in S. A. Niyazov Etrap.
The President talked to the tenant M. Ovezov about his everyday concerns and this year's yield of wheat. The tenant farmer told the Turkmen leader that he had harvested 12.5 tons of grain from his 5-hectare field this summer.
Noting that the Government would continue to provide support to agricultural workers and tenant farmers, the President gave instructions to improve social and living conditions of farmers, who make a worthy contribution to achieving an abundance of food products in the country.
