President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China, Director of the PRC National Energy Administration Nuer Baikeli.
In an atmosphere of mutual understanding and trust the President and his guest exchanged views on a number of key aspects of fruitful cooperation. It was emphasized that the high level of mutual understanding and trust between the Turkmen and Chinese peoples as well as a regular and effective intergovernmental dialogue facilitated the enhancement and expansion of multifaceted Turkmen-Chinese partnership.
The state visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the People’s Republic of China in May last year that resulted in signing the impressive package of bilateral documents, laying the groundwork for the development of new joint projects in various fields, in particular in the oil and gas sector, gave a new impetus to an interstate dialogue.
Turkmenistan and China have successfully implemented a number of major projects in the framework of cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, including the project of the continent’s largest gas pipeline. Natural gas from Turkmenistan is supplied to the People’s Republic of China in full compliance with the contractual obligations of the parties. Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China cooperate in promoting the programmes for the joint development of gas bearing areas on the right bank of the Amudarya and building the second gas processing plant on Galkynysh gas field.
