President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a videoconference meeting with the hyakims of the regions and Ashgabat and the heads of the ministries concerned. The aspects of the country’s social and economic development in the context of the fulfilment of the assigned tasks and other issues of the domestic policy were discussed during the meeting.
The hyakims reported to the Turkmen leader on the current situation in the regions, the on-going work in the framework of the rural development programme and agricultural activities on farmlands and the measures taken to develop the livestock sector. The report on the progress in implementing the tree planting programme was presented.
The hyakims reported on the preparation of the celebrations in honour of the national holiday “A Drop of Water – A Grain of Gold”, World Health Day and Turkmen Horse Day, which take place in April.
Dwelling upon the current state of areas under crops in the regions, the President instructed to take all necessary measures to sow cotton and other agricultural crops in a timely and proper manner.
The Turkmen leader emphasized that all buildings and facilities built in the framework of the rural development programme must meet quality standards and modern requirements. Touching upon the preparations for the celebrations, the Turkmen leader gave specific instructions to ensure the high level of organisation of festive events and activities in the regions. The President instructed to ensure that newly planted trees were given proper care.

The draft design and layout of a public garden, which will be laid out in Gerogly Etrap in Dashoguz Velayat, were presented to the President for consideration. Minister of Internal Affairs I. Mulikov reported on the work carried out at the subdivisions under his supervision, the preparations for the holidays and the measures taken to maintain law and order. In particular, the Minister reported on the on-going reconstruction of the Kopetdag stadium that had been transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Minister also reported that the newly formed football team “Kopetdag” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs would participate in the upcoming competitions.
Commenting on the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the important role of military and law enforcement agencies in maintaining order and social stability and focused on the need to ensure the high level of organisation of the upcoming celebrations.
