President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a videoconference meeting with the hyakims of the regions and Ashgabat. The agenda focused on the key aspects of social and economic development of the regions in the context of the on-going reform programmes, the progress of seasonal agricultural activities and other important issues of the domestic policy.
The hyakims reported to the Turkmen leader on the current situation in the regions and the work done to achieve the objectives of the national rural development programme and the progress in planting cotton and vegetable crops. The reports on the measures taken to improve social and living conditions in the regions were presented.
The reports on the programme of the celebrations in honour of the remarkable dates of the national calendar and the measures taken to accelerate the pace of construction work in the regions were presented.
Focusing on the need to take a responsible and comprehensive approach to achieve the objectives of the national rural development programme, the Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also instructed to organize and hold cultural events and festivities in honour of the national holiday “A Drop of Water – A Grain of Gold” and World Health Day in a proper manner.

Dwelling on the preparations for the celebrations in honour of the remarkable dates of the national calendar, the Ashgabat Hyakim reported on the readiness of buildings and facilities, including tennis court and sports complex, for operation. The opening ceremonies will be held in the framework of the upcoming celebrations. The report on the work to be done in the city districts within the next few months was presented.
