President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a working videoconference meeting with the heads of administration of the regions and the Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers. The meeting agenda focused on the key objectives of social and economic development, the current situation in the agro-industrial sector and other important issues of the domestic policy.
The State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports that the hyakims of the regions reported to the Turkmen leader on the current situation in the regions and the progress of the cotton campaign and construction work. The information on the expected crop volumes and the preparations for the Turkmen Horse Day celebrations was presented.
Commenting on the reports, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the heads of administration should ensure that the cotton campaign was held in a proper and timely manner and in accordance with agro-technical requirements. Noting that the harvesting campaign would start in a few days, the Turkmen leader instructed the hyakims to prepare properly for the important agricultural season and ensure the readiness of agricultural machines, grain elevators and barns for the agricultural campaign.
The Turkmen leader emphasized that on-going activities in the framework of the rural development programme should meet modern requirements and instructed to take an integrated and responsible approach to the measures taken.
