Emphasizing high dynamics and constructiveness of the interstate dialogue, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Nursultan Nazarbayev focused on key areas of Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation in the context of the implementation of bilateral agreements and plans for the future. In this regard, emphasis was placed on existing favourable conditions for further intensification of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation given the existing profound potential in various industries.

It was noted that an effective role in expanding and diversifying cooperation was assigned to the Intergovernmental Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan Commission and the Business Council, an agreement on the establishment of which was signed during the top-level talks held in the framework of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan in December last year.
Focusing on the importance of the humanitarian aspect of Turkmen-Kazakh relations, the two leaders called for the intensification of fruitful contacts in this area.
The sides also exchanged views on topical issues of regional and international politics of mutual interest and reaffirmed the commitment of the two countries to constructive cooperation within the authoritative international organisations, particularly the United Nations.
Taking the opportunity, the Turkmen leader wished his Kazakh counterpart every success in the presidential elections, which will be held in Kazakhstan in the third decade of April.
