The V Meeting of the International Ahalteke Horse Breeding Association was organized in capital of Turkmenistan to mark the national holiday in honour of renowned ‘heavenly horses’. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The Turkmen leader warmly greeted the meeting participants in the conference hall of the Government Building and cordially congratulated them on the fifth anniversary of the International Ahalteke Horse Breeding Association. Then the President announced the agenda of the meeting.
The meeting agenda focused on the key aspects of development of horse breeding, including equestrian sports, and the ceremony of awarding active members of the International Association. The meeting participants also defined the date and place of the VI Meeting of the Meeting of the International Ahalteke Horse Breeding Association and discussed the tasks set to the International Association and adopted the necessary decisions.
Those speaking during the meeting, including the Head of the Department for the External Relations of the China Horse Industry Association and the President of the Association of Ahalteke Horse Breeding of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay highly evaluated the work done in a short period of time with the aim to unite all associations of Ahalteke horse breeding, horse breeders and experts from all over the world and conditions created to share the best practices with Turkmen specialists, who know the secrets of the art of horse breeding, and promote cooperation in this field.
The Decree on the awarding of the Bitaraplyk Order of Turkmenistan to foreign horse breeders was read during the meeting. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov presented the awards to President of the Association of Ahalteke Horse Breeding of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay Guillermo Lockhart Helguera, a Canadian horse breeder Tito Nils Pontecorvo, Head of the Department for External Relations of the China Horse Industry Association Zhang Mu and Director of Jakob Pferdezucht GbR Ferdezuçt GBR from the Federal Republic of Germany Katherine Anne Margaret Irene Jakob Geb. Schreiner.
