President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. The State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports that the high-ranking officials of military and law enforcement agencies and the hyakims of the regions and Ashgabat were invited to participate in the meeting.

The Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers reported on the current situation in the sectors under their supervision. In particular, the information on the preparations for the sixth meeting of Turkmenistan-Tajikistan Intergovernmental Commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation, which will be held in Dushanbe on April 27-30, was presented.

The report on the preparations for the commodities fair of the Republic of Belarus in Ashgabat scheduled for December 2015 was presented.

The report on the progress of seasonal agricultural activities was presented. Currently, the cotton campaign is in full swing in all the regions of the country.

The information on the preparations for a working visit of the Turkmen government delegation led by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Italian Republic scheduled for May 3-4 was presented. The Turkmen leader will take part in the Turkmenistan National Day events at the World Expo 2015 in Milan and hold meetings with the leaders of the Italian Republic and representatives of Italy’s business circles.

The meeting participants reported on ongoing capital reconstruction of the Abadan state power plant which will allow increasing electricity production. The information on the measures taken to beautify Ashgabat was presented.

The report on the opening of the new building of the Publishing Centre, which will take place on April 29, was presented. The opening of the new building will contribute to increasing the capacity of Turkmenistan’s printing industry.

The information on the preparation of the festive events and celebrations in honour of the upcoming national holidays – Victory Day, Day of Constitution and Magtymguly’s Poetry, Ashgabat Day, Turkmen Carpet Day, School-Leavers’ Day and the opening ceremonies of cultural and social facilities was presented.

Commenting on the reports, the Turkmen leader focused on the importance of developing the programme for the improvement of the employment system and the creation of new jobs in Turkmenistan in 2015-2020 and instructed to carry out the work jointly with the ministries and regional administrations.

The President signed the Resolution approving the state specimens of educational documents pursuant to items 1 and 2 of Article 35 of the Law of Turkmenistan on Education. These included the specimens of the school leaving certificate and diplomas on primary vocational education, secondary vocational education and higher education. The new state specimens were designed to meet the changes in the learning process at secondary, vocational and higher education institutions.

The Turkmen leader reviewed the project of the Advanced Training Centre for oil and gas industry specialists and engineers and the hostel of the Centre. The Advanced Training Centre will be built in Ashgabat and transferred under Turkmengaz State Concern. The Turkmen leader made some comments on the project and gave specific instructions on equipment of the Advanced Training Centre.

President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the heads of military and law enforcement agencies to enhance the effectiveness and promote the reforms aimed at strengthening the material and technical base of the agencies, improve professional skills of military servants and law enforcement officers and create decent conditions for service and life for military servants.

The Turkmen leader instructed to keep strict control over the on-going activities of law enforcement agencies, in particular road safety activities, carried out in the framework of the Month of Health and Happiness.

Other issues of the domestic policy were discussed and the decisions were adopted during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
