President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Natig Agaami ogly Aliyev, who arrived in Ashgabat for participation in quadripartite meeting on issues of cooperation in strategic oil and gas sphere.

In the course of the meeting, the head of state and head of the energy department of Azerbaijan discussed the prospects of expansion of partnership in fuel-energy complex, including owing to the realization of new joint projects on laying the transit gas pipelines, in particular, on natural gas deliveries from the Caspian region to Europe.

Available mutual interest is conditioned with increasing demands of different world countries in energy bearers as well as with position of Turkmenistan, realizing confidently the strategy on creation of multiple-choice system of export of its energy resources to new prospective markets.

In conclusion of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan underlined that both countries, which are connected with primordial good-neighborly relations, historical and cultural roots, common traditions and customs, take aim at close interaction, including in the sphere of exploration and prospecting of offshore oil and gas fields.
