President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the State Security Council, during which the work done by the military and law enforcement agencies for the four months of the current year and the ways to further optimize the activities and strengthen and modernize the material and technical base of the agencies were considered.
Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of National Security Ya. Berdiev reported on the progress in implementing the military reform aimed at strengthening and modernizing the material and technical base of the National Army and raising the professional level of military servants and members of their families. It was also reported on the work done by the Ministry to maintain the social and political stability in the country.
Chief of the State Border Guard Service M. Yslamov reported on the measures taken to enhance border security and enhance the discipline in the State Border Guard Service. It was also reported on the progress of construction of facilities and buildings for the State Border Guard Service.
Minister of Defence B. Gundogdyev reported on the progress in modernizing the military and technical base of the Armed Forces of the country and strengthening combat capability. It was also reported on the successful completion of the “Watan Gercegi” combined-arms tactical exercises.
Minister of Internal Affairs I. Mulikov reported on the work done in the four months of the current year within the framework of the Sports Month held under the motto “Health and Happiness” and the measures taken to ensure the road-traffic and fire safety in the country.
Prosecutor General A. Hallyev reported on the current situation in the sphere under his supervision and the measures taken on the Turkmen leader’s instructions to increase the effectiveness of activities of public prosecutor’s offices to ensure the adherence to the rule of law in the country.
Chairman of the Supreme Court B. Charyev reported on the work done by judicial institutions under his supervision in January-April and the specific measures taken to improve the judicial service of the country in strict compliance with the international standards.
Chief of the State Service for the Protection of Security of the Healthy Society A. Osmanov reported on the work done by the State Service and the specific measures taken jointly with other law-enforcement agencies and public organisations with the aim to counter illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and drug abuse.
Chairman of the State Migration Service D. Bairamov reported on the work done during the reporting period and the measures taken to raise the professional level of servants and improve the conditions of their life and service. In this regard, the project of a new apartment house for the specialists of the Service was presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
Chairman of the State Customs Service A. Hojamgulyev reported on the work done by the State Customs Service in the four months of the current year and fulfillment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions to further improve the work of the State Customs Service.
Minister of Justice B. Muhammedov reported on the work done by the Ministry within the framework of implementation of the legal reform, which aims at strengthening and improving the national legislation.
Summing up the meeting, President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the necessity to use a complex approach to further implement the military and legal reforms, which are aimed at improving the work of the law-enforcement agencies. The Turkmen leader underlined the importance of enhancing the discipline among military servants, raising their professional level and educating them in a spirit of real patriotism and selfless service to the Turkmen people and the sacred military duty.
It was noted that in accordance with the peace-loving policy and the Military Doctrine that has a defensive character, the Government would further strengthen the material and technical basis of the military and law-enforcement agencies and create all necessary conditions for the life and service of military men.
