The Turkmenistan Pavilion aims to showcase a significant contribution that our country is able to make to ensure food security on a global scale. The scope of its multifaceted activity covers the active development and effective management of natural resources, environmental protection, growing supply of high-quality and environmentally friendly goods produced by domestic manufacturers to foreign markets, effective measures to secure drinking water supplies, etc. Goods produced in the generous Turkmen land are of high quality as determined particularly by their beneficial effect on human health.
Thanking the Turkmen leader for his speech, Commissioner General for Expo Milano 2015 Bruno Pasquino expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Italian side to the distinguished guest for the visit to the World Expo 2015 which was viewed as an important step to build the reliable bridge of friendship from the Asian region to Europe.
The Commissioner General for Expo Milano 2015 emphasized that the policy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov aimed at ensuring food self-sufficiency of Turkmenistan and increasing its export potential in this segment of foreign trade relations produced positive results, facilitating the enhancement of the international prestige of our country.
Bruno Pasquino said that Turkmenistan’s experience would certainly be of particular interest to all exhibitors. He also noted that the visit of the Prime Minister of the Italian Republic to Turkmenistan last year and the top-level talks in Ashgabat had given a new impetus to bilateral relations between our countries and opened up new areas for partnership. Evidence for growing contacts on a long-term basis will be the opening of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Italy.
Bruno Pasquino said that the 2017 Asian Games in Ashgabat ranked among the status events, enabling our country to declare itself not only a major continental centre of the sports world, but also a centre of active international life, and supported the high diplomatic ‘rank’ of the capital of Turkmenistan in its peacekeeping mission.
Noting that Italy was closely watching the progress of Turkmenistan and rejoicing at the accomplishments of our country, the Commissioner General said that the achievements of our country were associated in many respects with the pro-active and constructive foreign policy based on the principles of neutrality, the 20th anniversary of which is being celebrated this year. The Commissioner General for Expo Milano 2015 once again focused on the cultural heritage of the Turkmen people in the context of cooperation between the two countries in the field of archaeology. Italian scientists have been successfully working in Turkmenistan for many years, conducting research on the territory of the famous historical sites and ancient cities. So, our cooperation is as much multifaceted today as it will be promising tomorrow.
