Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif completed his official visit to Turkmenistan.
Within the framework of the top-level talks, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif focused with satisfaction on the coincidence of views of the two states on the topical issues, in particular the mutual willingness of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Pakistan to contribute to peace, security and stability on regional and global scale.
It was emphasized that the two countries closely cooperated on regional issues applying joint efforts to build up positive international cooperation in the region. The fruitful partnership between the two states in the energy and transport spheres promotes the interests of peace and progress.
That is vividly proved by a large energy project – construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project.
The Turkmen leader and his guest emphasized the interest in further development of the traditional relations between the two states that was reflected during the ceremony of signing bilateral documents.
On the second day of his official visit to Turkmenistan, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif laid flowers to the Monument of Independence. Following a good tradition, the distinguished guest planted a young tree on the Alley of Guests of Honour as a symbol of friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
The Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan left Ashgabat for Pakistan.
