President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the State Security Council, during which the work done by the military and law enforcement agencies for five months of the year was reviewed.
The State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports that the heads of the law enforcement agencies presented the detailed reports on the progress of the large-scale military reform and the targeted measures taken to maintain stability and peace in the country. The report on the training of military pilots was presented.
The information on the situation on the border of Turkmenistan – the country committed to the policy of peace, good neighbourliness and mutually beneficial cooperation with all partners interested, particularly with neighbouring countries, was presented.
The reports on the measures taken to maintain public order and prevent any kind of crime in the country, protect the legitimate rights of citizens and ensure fire and traffic safety were presented. The report on the implementation of supervisory functions to ensure the rule of law in all the spheres of life of the state and society and the measures taken to improve the judicial system and develop the legal framework was presented.
A film about the citizens who had been detained with drugs and psychotropic substances was demonstrated as an illustration of the effective measures taken to struggle against illicit traffic in narcotic drugs.
The President instructed to take measures to strengthen the material and technical base of the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, improve the quality of combat and political training and modernize and replenish the fleet of military aircrafts.
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces reviewed the specimens of the dress uniform. Giving specific, the Turkmen leader focused on the importance of following national and modern traditions and ensuring visual attractiveness and imposing appearance of the dress uniform.
Commenting on the reports, President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that military and law enforcement agencies must perform designated tasks and take the most responsible approach to promote the large-scale reforms in compliance with the Military Doctrine which is purely defensive.
