President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the State Security Council. The work done by the military and law enforcement agencies in the first six months of the year was evaluated and the measures to be taken to optimize the activities and strengthen the material and technical base of military and law enforcement agencies were discussed.
The high-ranking officials reported to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces on the current situation at the ministries and departments under their supervision and the fulfilment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions.
In particular, the high-ranking officials reported on the measures taken in compliance with the Military Doctrine to strengthen defence capacity of the country through the modernization of the material and technical base of the Armed Forces and the training of highly qualified military personnel.
The report on the military and tactical training of military servants and officers, which contributes to the improvement of their professional skills, was presented. Emphasis was placed on the measures taken to create favourable conditions for life and service of military servants and their families as one of the main aspects of on-going work, including the accelerated construction of facilities, in particular comfortable apartment houses.
The report on the measures taken to defend the borders of the Fatherland, strengthen the material and technical base of the border troops and improve the conditions for life and service of border guards was presented.
The information on the measures taken to maintain public order, prevent crimes, ensure fire safety and regulate traffic on roads throughout the country was presented.
The information on the measures taken in January-June to enhance supervision of certain institutions, ensure the rule of law and public order in the state and society and improve the judicial system was presented.
The report on the measures taken to combat traffic in narcotic drugs and establish the fundamental principles of a healthy lifestyle in the society and eradicate bad habits, which are harmful to human health, was presented. The report on the work done by the State Migration Service and the measures taken to further improve and bring national legislation in line with international law and modernize infrastructure of the State Customs Service was presented.
Commenting on the reports, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to the members of the Security Council for the coordinated work of the institutions under their supervision and highly evaluated the contribution made by military and law enforcement agencies to strengthen the foundations of the sovereignty of Turkmenistan and facilitate the advancement of our country on the path of progress and sustainable development.
The Turkmen leader emphasized that our independent neutral state would continue to strengthen the material and technical base of law enforcement agencies and create the most favourable conditions of life and service of military servants and their families in compliance with the Military Doctrine.
Other issues were discussed and the decisions were adopted at the meeting of the State Security Council.
