President of Turkmenistan chairs a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers to consider the current issues of the domestic policy.

The Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers presented the reports. In particular, the report on the preparations for the visit of the delegation headed by the President of Turkmenistan to New York to attend the 70th session of the UN General Assembly was presented.

The information on the progress in drafting the Regulations on the licensing of audit activities to comply with international practices and national economic trends in accordance with the new Law of Turkmenistan on Auditing was presented.

The information on conferences, concerts and festive events, marking Harvest Day, Day of Health Care Specialists, the 20th anniversary of the Saglyk State Programme and the Year of Neutrality and Peace, was presented. The ceremonies of opening and laying the foundation stone of a number of health care facilities will take place.

The report on the progress in the harvest campaign and the measures taken to increase vegetable and melon production was presented. Agricultural workers are currently involved in sowing intermediate crops on the fields released from wheat.

The report on the preparations for the forum, which will take place in Ashgabat and involve the companies which specialize in water resources management from the Republic of Korea, was presented. The information on the outcomes of the meeting with the delegation of Japanese businessmen, led by the State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, who were on a working visit to Turkmenistan on June 27-28, was presented.

The issues considered at the meeting included the development of measures to prevent the harmful health effects of hot weather. Medical, sanitary, monitoring and awareness raising activities were carried out among citizens to prevent various diseases, including infectious diseases. Particular attention is paid to protection of children’s health, including the provision of children’s recreational centres with fresh food products and devices which help to reduce exposure to heat. These and many other measures are provided for in the special action plan.

The report on the measures taken to organize the summer school holidays for children in the Avaza national tourism zone was presented. The report n the opening ceremonies of three parks, built at the request of the Ministry of Nature Protection, the State Committee for Tourism and the State Service of Maritime and River Transport, and the multi-level parking facility for 266 cars, built at the request of the Balkan Velayat Hyakimlik, which will take place in the coming days, was presented.

The reports on the measures taken to develop industrial infrastructure, modernize the material and technical base of the power sector, create import-substituting industries, ensure effective natural resource management and develop the processing industry were presented.

Other issues were discussed and the decisions were adopted at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
