President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a working videoconference meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, the hyakims of the regions and Ashgabat and the high-ranking officials of a number of departments. The objectives of social and economic development, the progress in implementing the national rural development programme, the preparations for the upcoming holidays and the drafts of documents were discussed at the meeting.
The heads of regional administration reported on the current situation in their regions and the preparations for the cotton campaign. The reports on the progress in implementing the national rural development programme were presented.
The Ashgabat Hyakim reported on the measures taken to speed up construction work on facilities and buildings in Ashgabat, beautify and keep the city clean, implement the action plan for the effective use of park areas and improve social infrastructure in the capital city.
The report on the results of the harvest campaign was presented.
Focusing on the priority aspects of social and economic development of the regions, the President instructed to keep the progress of this work under control. The Turkmen leader also emphasized the need for the most responsible approach to the preparations for the cotton campaign.
Emphasizing that Ashgabat should become the model city in all respects, the President pointed out the shortcomings in the implementation of construction projects in Ashgabat as well as the measures taken to keep the city clean, expressing dissatisfaction with the work done by the Ashgabat Hyakim in this regard.
Focusing on the need to ensure the high level of organisation of the celebrations in honour of the upcoming holidays, which have an important place in the life of our country, the Turkmen leader gave specific instructions in this regard.
The President said that grain growers had successfully completed the harvest campaign despite adverse weather conditions. Over 1.4 million tons of grain had been delivered to granaries throughout the country. The results of the harvest campaign illustrate that Turkmenistan has achieved food security.
The Turkmen leader focused on the need to adequately evaluate inspired labour of tenant farmers, combiner operators, drivers and all those involved in the harvest campaign, instructing to explore the possibility to present valuable prizes and other awards to the best workers.
With the view to strengthen control of on-going activities in the regions, the Turkmen leader appointed Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers E. Orazgeldiev to supervise Dashoguz Velayat.
The President signed the decrees authorizing to pardon 1,061 citizens of Turkmenistan and 10 citizens of foreign countries in honour of Gadyr gijesi.
In this regard, the Turkmen leader instructed Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of National Security Ya. Berdyev and the heads of law enforcement agencies to ensure that the persons pardoned by the President could return home and celebrate Oraza bairamy together with their families.
The President instructed the hyakims of the velayats, etraps and towns and other high-ranking officials to ensure that all pardoned persons would be employed.
The Turkmen leader emphasized that such noble actions provided pardoned persons with an opportunity to atone for their fault by honest labour and actively contribute to the on-going activities aimed at further development and prosperity of the Motherland.
The President signed the Decree on the celebrations of Oraza bairamy on July 18 and the declaration July 18 a day off.
