President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which the important issues of the domestic policy and the drafts documents were discussed.
Before presenting the agenda of the meeting, the Turkmen leader noted that the coming week would be marked by Day of Health and Medical Workers and the 20th anniversary of the Saglyk State Programme.
The Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers presented the reports. It was reported that various events, including the conferences, involving representatives of the WHO, the UN and other international organisations, had been held to mark the 20th anniversary of the Saglyk State Programme and Day of Health and Medical Workers.
The programme of celebrations includes a number of major events, such as the Saglyk 2015 International Exhibition, which will start its work in Ashgabat on July 19. The ceremonies of laying the foundation stone of the International Centre for Surgery and Endocrinology and the opening ceremonies of the International Training and Research Centre of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, the buildings of the International Center of Cardiology, the Mother and Child Health Care Clinical Research Center for 670 patients and a warehouse of the Main Pharmacy Association will take place in the capital city on July 20. The specialized rehabilitation centre for 120 patients in Tejen town will be opened on the same day. The international medical conference, marking the remarkable date, will be held On July 21-22. The conference is organized jointly with the WHO and expected to be attended by representatives of 31 countries and international organisations.
The President signed the Resolution, approving the new Saglyk State Programme. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution on the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and UNICEF for procurement of medications for preventive vaccination among children and adults in 2016-2020 and the continuation of traditional cooperation with UNICEF.
The report on the current situation in the agricultural sector focused on the progress in seasonal agricultural activities. It was reported that Turkmen grain growers had completed the harvest campaign and launched preparations for the sowing campaign. After the harvest campaign, agricultural lands had been ploughed and planned to date. Agricultural workers were engaged in agro-technical activities on cotton plantations, including inter-row cultivation, application of fertilizers and watering of crops.
The report on the preparations for Galla bairamy, which is traditionally celebrated in our country on the third Sunday of July. The programme of the Galla bairamy celebrations includes the science conference, concerts and various festive events, which will take place on the square in front of the Ak Bugdai monument. The main celebrations will take place at the Ashgabat Music Centre on July 19, where a bakery exhibition will be arranged. Valuable gifts will be awarded on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan to the best grain growers, combine operators and other agricultural industry specialists.
The information on the preparations for the third meeting of Turkmenistan-Tatarstan working commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation, which will be held in Ashgabat on July 23-24. Participants in the meeting are expected to discuss the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the petrochemical, energy, industrial, transport, construction and agricultural sectors, environmental protection as well as the spheres of education, health care, sport and tourism, among others.
The report on the preparations for the Days of Culture of the People’s Republic of China in Turkmenistan, which will be held on August 4-6, was presented. The programme of the large-scale cultural action includes the concerts of art and cultural workers from China and an exhibition of Chinese arts and crafts.
The report on the results of the business trip made by the Turkmen delegation to Tokyo, Japan on July 15-17 was presented. The issues relating to economic, investment and technological partnership, the implementation of joint projects for high-tech processing of natural gas, modernization and establishment of industries which manufacture the products able to compete in the world markets and the introduction of scientific and technological innovations, advanced management and marketing methods were discussed in Tokyo.
It was reported that the talks, held during the business trip, were very productive. The high level of organization of the events and the welcome extended to the Turkmen delegation, the status of which was illustrated by the meeting with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and representatives of the biggest business companies from the Land of the Rising Sun, testified to the keen willingness of Japanese business circles to intensify bilateral cooperation.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Decree, authorizing the Turkmen delegation to visit New Delhi, Republic of India and hold the talks on Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project.
The information on the progress in implementing the architectural and urban development programme in the Turkmen capital and the Ashgabat development plans for 2015-2016 was presented. The report on the progress in privatization of apartment houses from the state housing fund was presented.
The report on the preparations for Turkmenistan-Kyrgyzstan Business Forum, organized by the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries, which will be held in Bishkek on August 4, was presented. During the visit to the Kyrgyz Republic the Turkmen delegation will visit the industrial enterprises and the Bishkek free economic zone.
