President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation.

In a businesslike and constructive atmosphere, paramount attention was paid to the progress in implementing earlier achieved agreements aimed at developing partnership built on the principles of equality, mutual confidence and respect.

The leaders of the two states specified the trade and economic sphere, transport and communications, urban development, agriculture and other sectors as the significant areas for cooperation. It was emphasized the importance of building up relations in the humanitarian sphere, in particular the spheres of science, culture, education, sports and tourism.

Speaking about the international politics that are of particular interest for the two states, the Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation focused on the aspiration of Turkmenistan and Russia to provide every possible assistance to ensure the positive development of global processes, in particular the establishment of a wide international dialogue on key issues of the global agenda, and strengthen the principles of peace, stability and global security.

In conclusion, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Vladimir Putin expressed belief in the prospects for developing mutually beneficial cooperation and wished happiness, prosperity and well-being to the people of the two brotherly countries.
